Happy half a week, I hope yours is going well so far. Yesterday we delivered our S/4HANA webinar with ADS, and it was a brilliant session. Great turnout, strong interaction, and plenty of thoughtful questions. One theme that came up again and again was how do you choose the right Systems Integrator (SI)? It’s a big one, and for good reason. The move from ECC6 to SAP S/4HANA is one of the most complex transformations any organisation will face. The SI partner you choose can quite literally make or break your journey. That’s why I wanted to share this excellent piece from my colleagues Ian De Snoo and Lee Timmins. It captures exactly what matters when selecting the right partner. A great SI partner brings: ✔ Deep SAP technical expertise ✔ Industry insight and cultural fit ✔ A proven delivery track record ✔ Strong change management and process re-engineering skills And their top tips for success really stand out: 1. Go beyond the brand and meet the actual team who will work with you. 2. Test real-world problem-solving, not just methodology slides. 3. Align early on KPIs, governance, and knowledge transfer. 4. Build a win-win relationship with clear escalation and performance mechanisms. At Project One, we’ve supported many customers through this exact challenge, helping them select, onboard, and manage their SIs so that S/4HANA programmes deliver real business value, not just a technical go-live. You can read the full article here: [https://lnkd.in/ey5-xUDx) Wishing you a great rest of the week ahead. If you ever want to chat about anything change, project, programme or PMO, always feel free to give me a shout. Kind regards Leigh #S4HANA #SAP #ECC6 #ERPTransformation #BusinessTransformation

The Rise of “One-Man S/4 Teams”- Efficiency or Risk? There’s a growing demand from clients for “one-man S/4 teams.” They love the speed and cost efficiency ⚡️ -one strong consultant handling everything: configuration, testing, and even a bit of project management. But here’s the risk: when that person leaves or burns out, the whole project slows down. And if there’s no one else to step in… what happens then? 🧱 Yes, it’s efficient, but is it really sustainable? Big transformation projects need collaboration, knowledge sharing, and enough people to keep things on track. In 2025, efficiency matters- but not at the expense of delivery quality or team balance. ⚖️ What do you think... are “one-man teams” the future, or just a risky shortcut? #SAP #S4HANA #SAPProjects #DigitalTransformation #SAPConsulting #ProjectDelivery #ITLeadership

#SAPChallenges In continuation to my last post on why companies struggle post SAP go-live, here are some pointers to overcome. How to Overcome post go-live Challenges 1. Treat Post-Go-Live as a Separate Phase,Not a Closure Stabilization requires dedicated time, focus, and structured governance with KPIs around data accuracy, reconciliation, and user adoption before considering the system “stable.” 2. Establish a Central Issue-Tracking and Resolution Mechanism Implement a structured tracker or ServiceNow portal to capture, prioritize, and monitor issues across business functions. This ensures transparency, accountability, and timely closure. 3. Strengthen Change Management and Communication Change management cannot stop at training sessions. Continuous communication from leadership, showcasing success stories and quick wins, helps build user confidence and trust in SAP. Change management has to come from top, if top management will change their way of looking into things rather than sticking to traditional way to working, it will flow across the organization and acceptability will improve. 4. Define Priorities and Protect Focused Resources Teams working on system stabilization and improvement should have clear priorities and be shielded from routine distractions. Concentrated effort from a small, cross-functional group is far more effective than dispersed multitasking. 5. Embed Reporting and Analysis into the Operating Rhythm Finance and business leaders should establish structured reporting practices from top management dashboards to operational-level variance analysis ensuring that insights generated from SAP data drive decisions at all levels. 6. Continuous Learning Culture Periodic refresher sessions, role-based training, and knowledge-sharing forums help sustain adoption and enhance system utilization over time. SAP is Giant, give time for stabilization with clear direction and dedicated efforts. ⸻ Conclusion SAP implementation is not an endpoint but a transformation enabler. The true success lies in how effectively organizations stabilize, adopt, and continuously improve the system after go-live. Clear priorities, strong governance, dedicated resources, and robust change management are the real differentiators between organizations that merely implement SAP and those that truly transform through it. Considering SAP as a analytical reporting tool may be a mistake (though SAP SAC has capabilities), it is an enabler and other digital initiative in different stream such as finance, sales, source to contract, manufacturing which has deep capabilities in analytics and reporting should help in better utilization of SAP and value extraction. Looking forward for your insights.
