They generate answers using probability, not actual thinking or logic. Real creativity means going beyond patterns and that’s not what AI is built for. My feelings about AI are irrelevant. When I discuss AI with people, I often hear, “I don’t feel like we should….” or “I think it’s going to….” The hard truth? It doesn't matter what we think. It only matters how our customers react. This lesson came from my early career in hospitality. I can create a dish that I thought was brilliant, but if it doesn’t sell, my opinion was worthless. Your customer decides. Right now, your customers' expectations are shifting. With powerful and accessible generative AI tools, they can achieve great results on their own. If your product or service can't outperform what they can do with ChatGPT, why would they pay with their money or attention? Businesses and communities that embrace this will gain market share. Those that don't, will feel the pressure to adapt.
