GLOBAL DATA CENTER TALENT SHORTAGE - THE HOTTEST MARKET OPPORTUNITY The global data center industry is skyrocketing, fuelled by AI, hyperscale cloud, and rapid digitalization. However, the real pinch point isn't funding or space — it's talent. From engineers to regional directors, the demand far outstrips supply, and few recruitment firms can cater to this highly specialized niche. Key Data Points: - The global data center market was valued at USD 250 billion in 2023, projected to exceed USD 550 billion by 2030. - Hyperscale capacity is expected to double within five years, with new facilities emerging across Europe, the U.S., and the Middle East. - Each 100MW data center requires over 300 specialized professionals during construction and operation. - The industry faces a global shortage of 2 million qualified engineers and technicians by 2027. - Companies are actively seeking trusted recruitment partners who understand data center infrastructure, not generic recruiters. Recruit-i can support the resources required in this industry. Contact Martin Hickson via Martin.hickson@recruit-i.com for more information. #DataCenterJobs #Recruitment #DigitalInfrastructure

The Truth About Data Centre Recruitment and Why Most Agencies Get It Wrong Everyone talks about how busy the data centre market is. But not enough people talk about how hard it’s becoming to hire well inside it. AI infrastructure is booming, yet we’re facing a shortage of the exact skills that make it work. Project Manager, CX resources, Engineers, Project controls, Construction workers...all in higher demand than ever. And the reality? Every unfilled role delays a project, strains a team, and costs serious money. That’s where good recruitment actually matters. Not in the number of CVs sent, but in the speed, accuracy, and retention of every hire. Since launching, we’ve filled a number of technical roles, maintained a 95% offer acceptance rate, and submitting qualified candidates within 24 hours. That’s not luck, that’s niche focus. We don’t talk about recruitment for recruitment’s sake. We talk about the business impact of getting hiring right. If you’re scaling a team or opening new data centre sites, I’d love to share what’s actually working in this market right now. #Datacenterjobs #Datacenterhiring #AIinfrastructure

The data centre sector across the UK and Europe is transforming the digital economy. But here’s the reality: growth is outpacing talent supply. • UK salaries for data centre professionals are climbing past £100K, yet firms are struggling to hire networking specialists and data/AI talent. • Europe faces a looming skills gap as experienced professionals retire and demand for engineering, sustainability, and construction expertise surges. Without the right people, projects stall, costs rise, and innovation slows. At Macdonald & Company, we help operators and developers bridge this gap. From hyperscale project managers to sustainability engineers and AI infrastructure experts, we connect you with the talent that powers the future. Swipe through our carousel for key market insights - and let’s talk about how we can help you build the team you need. The most exciting part of the US data center boom isn’t the buildings - it’s the people behind them. For years, the industry was seen as a niche corner of construction and tech. Now it’s becoming a career destination in its own right. What we’re witnessing is the rise of a full-blown data center talent ecosystem, and it’s changing fast. 🔹 Cross-industry migration Engineers and trades from oil & gas, manufacturing, utilities, and even aerospace are moving into data centers. They’re bringing fresh thinking on safety, energy systems, and scale - and finding the stability and growth this market offers hard to ignore. 🔹 Career mobility on a global scale Once you’re in, opportunities open up everywhere. US specialists are being seconded to Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. The skills are transferable, the demand is global, and the projects are transformative. 🔹 New pathways for emerging talent Apprenticeships, veterans’ programs, and partnerships with community colleges are finally building a real pipeline. The industry’s learning how to talk to the next generation, not just about volts and amps, but about purpose, sustainability, and innovation. 🔹 The shift in perception People are realising data centers aren’t “just sheds with servers.” They’re where AI, cloud, and the digital economy physically exist. That sense of meaning is drawing people who want to build the infrastructure of the future. As a recruiter in this space, that’s what excites me most. Watching these teams grow, helping skilled people find their place in this ecosystem - that’s where the real story of the data center market is being written.

🚀 What the AI & Data Center Boom Means for Talent in 2026 “The demand curve in digital infrastructure isn’t slowing — but the talent supply still is.” As AI drives massive investment in data centers, the race for skilled talent has reached new heights. Here are three trends I’m seeing across the industry: 1️⃣ Skilled Technician Shortage: Critical facility techs, electricians, and fiber installers remain in short supply as project pipelines expand globally. 2️⃣ Design & Build Talent Surge: The need for experienced engineers, construction managers, and commissioning experts is rising faster than most companies can hire. 3️⃣ Cross-Border Recruitment: Employers are widening their search, tapping into global talent pools to meet deadlines and maintain project velocity. The takeaway? 👉 Start building your workforce strategy 6–9 months before project launch. Waiting until construction begins means you’re already behind. That’s where Kelly Digital Infrastructure (KDI) can help. KDI delivers top-tier engineering and infrastructure talent where you need it — faster and at scale, backed by proven results in the data center space. 📊 Our track record: 9,000+ roles filled in the last 36 months / nearly 2,400 YTD Operations in 80+ U.S. locations and 40+ countries 23-day average time-to-fill, with an industry-leading NPS of 51.9 In 2026, the companies that win won’t just build faster — they’ll hire smarter. #TalentStrategy #DataCenters #AIGrowth #DigitalInfrastructure #RecruitingInsights #KellyServices #WorkforceDevelopment

🌐 The announcement that Vantage Data Centers is developing the “Stargate” data-center campus in Port Washington, Wisconsin—with partners OpenAI and Oracle—is more than just another build-out. It means nearly 4,000 union-construction jobs, 1,000+ long-term roles, and zero-emission power matched 100% for the site, while also enabling new clean-energy capacity for the state. 🔍 What stands out to me: sustainability and scale are finally aligning in digital infrastructure and delivering measurable regional impact. 💬 I’d love to hear your thoughts: – What do you think are the biggest opportunities (and risks) when data centers marry AI demand with zero-emission energy? – How should communities and regulators approach these mega-projects so they deliver both tech growth and local benefit? #cleanenergy #sustainability #datacenters #AIinfrastructure #energytransition #jobs #innovation #digitalinfrastructure #zeroemissions Read the article here: https://shorturl.at/Nl7ul
