RCR Mining Technologies expands into renewables with wind turbine project

♻️⚡ Congratulations to BHP on taking a major step toward decarbonising its South Australian copper operations, signing a landmark renewable energy deal with Neoen to secure 100 megawatts of base load renewable electricity. The deal is BHP’s third and largest renewable electricity commitment in South Australia to date, and will power BHP’s Olympic Dam, Carrapateena, and Prominent Hill sites. 🤝 The long-term agreement with Neoen will draw on the first 300 MW from the Goyder North Wind Farm, backed by the new 200 MW/800 MWh Goyder Battery and Neoen’s energy management expertise. Last week, our mechanical team has been hard at work at CITIC’s Fortescue River Village near the Sino Iron Project at Cape Preston, Western Australia, pouring concrete and installing the mounting structure for one of our latest hybrid solar energy projects. The system features: ☀️ 396kWac of Solar PV panels 🔋 320kW/ 750kWh Battery Energy Storage System ⛽ Integration with existing 1.5MVA diesel generators This hybrid system is designed to significantly reduce diesel consumption at the mining accommodation site while delivering a reliable, resilient, and adaptable energy supply - all part of CITIC Pacific Mining’s lower emission future. To meet the challenges of the cyclone-rated Region D, GenOffGrid has deployed a high mechanical uplift capacity ground-mounted solar array, purpose-built for extreme conditions. Specialised in off-grid energy solutions for the remote regions, GenOffGrid can deliver tailored solutions, ranging from small-scale systems to comprehensive projects.
