This looks straight out of the movie I, Robot🤖 UBTECH Robotics is moving from prototype to massive scale, with its latest Walker S2 humanoids heading for pre-shipment inspection this mid-November. This is a huge step towards robots working 24/7 with zero downtime. Engineered as an industrial workhorse, the Walker S2 is built for manufacturing facilities such as NIO, BYD and Zeekr International, where earlier models have already been tested. A closer look at the specifications of the Walker S2: - The bipedal humanoid stands at 1760 mm high and weighs 70 kg. - Total of 52 DoF, with a 11 DoF dexterous hands equipped with 6-point tactile sensor array. Each arm can handle a payload up to 15 kg. - Advanced waist articulation allows for a pitch angle from +90° to -35° and a rotation angle ±162°. - Powered by proprietary system, BrianNet 2.0, a fleet coordination and swarm intelligence system. The Walker S2 made headlines on its debut back in July for a groundbreaking feature: the world's first fully autonomous, hot-swappable dual-battery system in a humanoid. When the battery runs low, the humanoid replaces it with a fresh pack at the battery charging station, all done in approximately 3 minutes without shutting down. This autonomous, minimal-downtime energy management is the definitive solution to the energy capacity issue in industrial autonomation.
