Raisely’s Post

Over the last few weeks we’ve learned about GoFundMe Pro and Charitabl. | The Easy Way To Give creating unauthorised fundraising pages on behalf of nonprofits without consent. This practice damages trust in the nonprofit sector and may impact customers currently using Raisely. We want to make it explicitly clear that at Raisely we champion charity control: Our platform is built on the principle that nonprofits own their brand, their data, and their donor relationships from end-to-end. We believe in transparent, permission-based fundraising that puts the charity first. As a result, we will never create a fundraising page, campaign, or program for any organisation without their direct and explicit authorisation. We also want to make sure nonprofits know how to deal with these issues: 1. GoFundMePro has reversed course and made this an opt-in experience, however we’d still encourage organisations follow the steps linked below to confirm their nonprofit has been addressed. 2. Charitabl. instructs nonprofits to email them at info@charitabl.org if they would like to be removed. The sector is built on trust, and we stand ready to support every nonprofit in upholding these standards. If you have any concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to us directly. https://lnkd.in/etD8vNnq

As a previous passionate ambassador of Raisely prior to it’s recent acquisition, I am incredibly disappointed by this propagation of misinformation without appropriate due diligence being conducted. Looking forward to a conversation with Anush Vinod about this when we can set a mutually available time. In the meantime, I’d suggest the Raisely team take a look at the PayPal Foundation and Catalyser to see that this kind of giving has been common place for years (and Charitabl. have improved on the experience from significant amounts of research and human-centred design). It’s important to stand up for truth while engaging in healthy debate.

It's disappointing a company like Raisely would not reach out to fact check any of the claims made in this post. We are always open for healthy and genuine dialogue and are committed to building and shaping technology together that will help strengthen the sector. In light of your post and others being made by similar competing products, our CEO Mike Gore recorded this message. youtube.com/watch?v=EkuhZNLWiTs&feature=youtu.be

Thank you Raisely for sharing the same concerns we have raised with our charities over at GoodCompany . We too will never fundraise for any organisation without their direct and explicit authorisation. Our sector is built on trust and we stand ready to support everyone in our space that upholds these standards.
