In Waterfall project management, updating your project plan is vital for ensuring that everything stays on track. Regularly comparing the planned timeline to actual progress helps us determine whether the project is on schedule, behind, or ahead. This comparison is essential for identifying potential risks early on, making timely adjustments, and ensuring successful project delivery. A well-maintained plan acts as both a roadmap and a diagnostic tool, guiding us to meet our goals efficiently. #ProjectManagement #Waterfall #Planning #Success

ℹ️ Big news for project managers: The PMBOK® Guide – Eighth Edition is out! Today, at the Global Summit 2025, PMI has released the latest edition of the PMBOK Guide, bringing fresh insights for today’s fast-changing project world. 👉🏻 What’s new: 🔹An updated Standard for Project Management Still covering the key terms and foundational elements in project management, and how projects deliver organizational value. But a major change compared to the previous edition, are the Six core principles to guide decision-making and leadership, far less and more pragmatic, and therefore a good simplification compared to the PMBOK Guide Seventh edition. 🔹A much improved!! Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge - For practitioners remembering the Knowledge areas as a very handy topic based structure, and being used in all earlier editions except for the Seventh edition: they are back again , but now labeled as Performance domains. - What remained are the Focus Areas, Initiating, Planning, Executing, Monitoring and Controlling, and Closing, formerly known as Process groups. - Also the Inputs, Outputs and Tools and Techniques (formerly known as ITTO) are back. 👏 Altogether, in my view, a great improvement compared to the previous edition of the PMBOK Guide! Based on the nature of projects, by definition there is already more than enough uncertainty in projects. This standard and guide will support us using a shared ´language´ in the project management profession, which is highly beneficial when collaborating in teams and with project stakeholders. Improved mutual understanding - less confusion! 👉 So, as a PMI member benefit from this, and now get a free download of your copy at https://lnkd.in/eaJ3e-sB #PMI #PMINetherlandsChapter #projectmanagement #projectmanager #PMBOK Yolanda Cabrera-Sybesma, MPH Tom Dedecker Sven Gellens Thomas Brion Jeroen D'hulst David Rasson

Waterfall Scenario: During project implementation, a key stakeholder requests additional scope based on an agreement with the end user. As a project manager, what should be your first action? A️-Revise the project baseline immediately and report to top management B️-Evaluate and analyze the impact on scope, cost, and quality, then summarize for top management C️-Refuse the request and do nothing D️-Address the request through formal channels without analysis what is your action based on the best practice ??
