Today is the International Day of Climate Action, an annual movement focused on climate change initiatives. Primient has committed to the most ambitious 1.5°C science-based targets pathway to drive carbon reduction in our plants and our value chain. Explore our decarbonization strategy—including energy integration, combined heat and power (CHP) technology, a flexible mill platform, and more—in our Impact Report: https://lnkd.in/ef9_nWuD #PrimientImpactReport #InternationalDayofClimateAction

🌍 We can’t solve the climate crisis if we ignore industrial heat. It’s one of the biggest sources of carbon emissions — yet it’s often overlooked in climate conversations. That has to change. If we want to stay below 1.5°C, we need to tackle the hardest sectors, not just the easy wins. That means addressing high-temperature processes, rethinking how we use energy, and investing in real solutions — now, not later. Because climate action that leaves industry behind… isn’t real climate action. #ClimateAction #IndustrialEmissions #Decarbonisation #Sustainability #EnergyTransition #NetZeroIndustry #OlvondoTechnology

Two things can be true at once: First and Foremost, we need clean energy to fight climate change. Secondly, countries will not adopt clean energy if it destabilizes the grid or bankrupts the utility. Climate urgency and economic reality must coexist. That tension is where real solutions lie #EnergyTransition #ClimateFinance #PowerMarkets #SustainableDevelopment

A new report finds the world is on track for about 2.8°C of warming by 2100—better than pre-Paris forecasts but still above the 2°C target. Clean energy costs have plunged, yet deeper emission cuts are urgently needed. https://lnkd.in/gFb5ZT8p #ClimateChange #ParisAgreement #NetZero #CleanEnergy #Sustainability

Understanding Greenhouse Gases: Their Lifetime, Effect, and Intensity Climate change is driven by a complex mix of greenhouse gases — each with unique lifetimes, warming intensities, and sources. This overview highlights how gases like carbon dioxide (CO₂), methane (CH₄), and nitrous oxide (N₂O) differ in their impact on the climate system. While CO₂ remains the dominant long-term driver, short-lived gases such as CH₄ have much stronger short-term effects. Water vapor, though natural, amplifies warming through feedback loops, while synthetic gases like HFCs and SF₆ are thousands of times more potent per molecule. Understanding these differences is crucial for shaping effective climate policies and carbon reduction strategies. #ClimateChange #Sustainability #GHG #ClimateAction #Environment #ScienceCommunication

Methane is the second most important greenhouse gas after CO₂ and accounts for around 0.5 °C of the current rise in global temperature. As we head toward COP30, methane mitigation stands out as one of the fastest, most cost-effective ways to make near-term climate progress. Our latest Methane Emissions FactBook explores the global opportunities, technologies, and policy levers to accelerate action. Read about it more here: https://lnkd.in/ezFpg7dk #GHGemissions #energytransition #COP30

The new #StateOfClimateAction 2025 report is here! The report finds that global efforts fall far short of what’s needed to a 1.5°C pathway within reach—none of the 45 indicators are on track for 2030. Most are well off track, with progress heading in the right direction, but far too slowly. This includes some of the world’s most consequential and impactful indicators, including deforestation, coal power and climate finance. Read the world’s most comprehensive roadmap for closing the global gap in climate action across sectors. https://lnkd.in/enS3tJBn #SystemsChangeLab

The energy transition is happening, but the global south is paying the price while wealthy countries are take the profits. While the richest consume enough energy to power everyone without electricity 7 times over, redistributing the top 10% global elites consumption could power the entire Global South 9 times over 👉 Read the report to see how we can reclaim our energy future by confronting these challenges and advancing climate justice: https://lnkd.in/d85uhH-e #EndClimateColonialism #makerichpolluterspay
