Last Friday, we closed another chapter of an amazing Interns season! This crew is bright, hilarious, and inspiring! When this crew wasn't working hard on their project, we also had lots of fun with some friendly competitions! Our interns' summer project was to build small-scale AI models to classify mobile device sensor data and deploy their solutions as Android Team Awareness Kit (ATAK) plugins. The interns built their models from scratch and were free to experiment with different model architectures. Split into three teams to tackle three different sensor data types, our interns exceeded our expectations with the quality of their solutions and final presentations. The teams presented at AFCEA Central Maryland Chapter Summer Intern Presentation Showcase (SIPS) and walked away with not one but two awards, Best Overall and Best Technical. Well done, everyone!
