Ever tried to update a button link and somehow broken half your site? Or edited a heading, only to realise your navbar is now in your footer? That kind of inconsistency is one of the main reasons clients come to me for a rebuild. Most started on WordPress or Squarespace, and the site was great on launch. But over time, it became a patchwork of small fixes that were easy to break and hard to maintain. That’s where Webflow (and especially Webflow components) completely change the experience. Components aren’t just reusable blocks; they’re connected systems. When I build a site in Webflow, every section, button, and layout starts as a component. Need to drop in a pre-existing component and it just works? ✅ Do it. Need to update a heading on one page but keep the layout? ✅ Do that too. Need to tweak the layout, theme, or button style for a one-off landing page? ✅ Go ahead. It means: 🚀 Faster development ✏️ A consistent design system 🤝 A smooth handoff, where clients can safely make updates without worrying about breaking anything Every project I take on starts with this foundation, built on the incredible Lumos framework pioneered by Timothy Ricks. It keeps development efficient, design consistent, and clients in control, ie not reliant on a developer for every small change. Nothing excites me more than long-term partnerships with clients, but I’m even more passionate about doing more business-changing work post-launch: optimising, refining, and evolving the website over time. Some sites are built to keep clients around because using them isn’t intuitive. It's like selling a car with a bunch of hidden issues and you can't get the bonnet open – the garage is bound to get a bit more labour out of you. I build websites with the opposite mindset: Has the client got everything they need to dive right in and start updating copy, images and editing the CMS? (usually in the form of training videos) 📽️ If I died tomorrow, could the client maintain it? 😀 And would the project cost cover the funeral? 💀 If your current platform feels fragile or hard to maintain, a rebuild in Webflow might be the most sustainable long-term move you can make. #webflow #webdesign #nocode #designsystems #components

The design looked fine, but the site was slow and bloated with unnecessary code. Now, they’re hiring a developer (like me) to rebuild the whole site on a lightweight, custom framework. One of the biggest turning points in Finsweet’s story was discovering Webflow. At the time, I was building client sites on Wordpress. Slow, clunky, and full of limitations. The moment I tried Webflow, it clicked. I could build faster. I had real creative control. And for the first time, I could see how HTML and CSS worked. Within weeks, I made a decision: No more Wordpress projects. Finsweet was going to be Webflow-only. To prove it, I rebuilt my old client sites inside Webflow — for free. Then I showed them side by side: 👉 Same content. 👉 Better performance. 👉 Cleaner builds. 👉 More possibilities. Not every client cared. But it didn’t matter. Those rebuilds gave me a portfolio of real Webflow projects. That portfolio gave me leverage. Looking back, it was the single best bet I ever made.
