Sidewalk sheds, or scaffolding, protect pedestrians from falling debris during construction and demolition, but are increasingly seen as a blight on the city’s public realm. PAU’s newly selected designs, created in collaboration with Fisher Marantz Stone and LERA Consulting Structural Engineers to improve lighting, circulation, and ease of installation, will dramatically improve the everyday lives of Gotham’s pedestrians.
