𝗛𝗼𝘁 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀: Germany just said EVs and Home batteries = Utility scale batteries 🔋🇩🇪 If that's not a massive win for the "EVs aren't just cars, they're batteries on wheels" mantra, we don't know what is. Our V2G guide called it and it's now even more obvious that EVs have great potential that energy retailers should tap into. And honestly if we didn't know better we'd say the German parliament read our latest piece... we think you should too. Dive in here: https://lnkd.in/eXGEfkH2

💡From solid-state batteries till wireless charging! It is exciting to see what new technologies are rising up the coming years in terms of battery electric cars. From my perspective, the following four innovations are the most interesting ones: A) Solid-state batteries that are expected to enable that battery electric cars can make far over 1000 km without recharging. B) Wireless charging via induction during parking the car, what makes the charging of electric cars further convenient. C) Electric cars with bi-directional charging function. Meaning electric cars that are able supply the in their batteries stored energy back to the charging station. That could especially be of interest if you have solar panels at home. With the right charging station at home, the car battery could then be used to store electricity generated from the solar panels during the day. And during night the car battery can help to supply your house with electricity. (However, that is not yet allowed in all countries!) D) Further increase of the max. charging power (to 1000 kW or even more) at fast charging stations, what would make charging nearly as quick as refueling a petrol or diesel car. Which of the above mentioned upcoming innovations do you expect will have the biggest impact to convince the group of people to switch to battery electric cars that are still hesitating? ➡️ Write A), B), C) or D) in the comments. Look forward to your comments and thoughts. 🙂

What was 2025 like for the Spanish EV charging market? While many global automakers are rethinking their electrification strategies, Spain continues to move forward. By the end of September this year, the country had already surpassed the total number of public chargers installed in 2024, reaching 52,107 charging points. That’s 13,382 new chargers in just nine months, a 34.5% increase compared to last year. But there’s still a long way to go. As for now, Spain has achieved only 5% of its 2030 target under the national energy and climate plan. Moreover, around 2 out of every 10 chargers remain out of service, roughly 14,600 unavailable points. Another challenge is charger speed. Almost 70% of public chargers are 22 kW or less, while fast and ultra-fast chargers (≥150 kW) account for just 740 units, mostly concentrated in large cities. Despite this, EV demand is growing fast. In September alone, registrations of electric and plug-in hybrid cars doubled compared to the same month last year: 22,068 vs. 10,872. Over the first nine months of 2025, 171,698 new registrations were recorded, up 99% year-on-year. Still, Spain lags behind the EU average for both EV adoption and infrastructure rollout. And with Europe now reconsidering the 2035 all-electric sales target, the next few years will show which markets keep up and which risk falling behind. Will Spain manage to become one of the European leaders in terms of EV chargers quantity & quality? Share your opinion in the comments. (Image source: Roland Berger)
