Moving soon? Before you start packing, it’s the perfect time to lighten the load. In a recent feature from Better Homes & Gardens, NEAT Method co-founder Marissa Hagmeyer shared her expert advice on what not to pack—and how thoughtful preparation can make your move calmer, smoother, and more intentional. Highlights from the article: • Start decluttering as soon as you know you’re moving—donate and recycle regularly in the weeks leading up to your move. • Skip consumables, old paint, and batteries—they’re difficult (and sometimes unsafe) to transport. • Re-home clothes that no longer fit and toys or gear your family has outgrown. • Leave behind junk drawer clutter and “someday” items that never get used. • Plan ahead for responsible disposal through donation centers, neighborhood groups, or recycling programs. As Marissa notes, “Moving is a stressful time, but it can be made so much calmer with thoughtful preparation.” #HomeOrganization #MovingTips #Decluttering #Minimalism #IntentionalLiving People Inc. 📷: Getty Images/Dougal Walter

We recently joined forces with Sam's Spares to make a real difference this Christmas. Our employees volunteered their time to help repair, test and assemble gaming consoles for families in need, bringing joy to homes while reducing e-waste. This initiative not only supports the community but also helps divert electronics from landfill, promoting a more sustainable future. Sam’s Spares does incredible work by giving technology a second life, providing employment opportunities and supporting families who need it most. We’re proud to partner with them, not only through volunteering but also by donating our IT products to give them an extended life and help reduce environmental impact. At Lowes Manhattan Pty Ltd, we’re committed to finding practical ways to reduce waste and make a real difference in the communities around us. Sustainability for us isn’t just a buzzword; it’s about doing what’s right for people and the planet. This incredible initiative was made possible through the generosity of Lowes owner Linda Penn, alongside the support of our valued partners IWS - Independent Warehouse Solutions, DEAN World Cargo, and Vuvale Outsourcing (BDE Group), who helped us bring this vision to life. Through our Fiji Reuse Project, we donated over $1.5 million worth of brand-new school uniforms, including sports uniforms, to children across Fiji. We also supplied 26,000 units of new workwear to support local sugar cane farmers, along with 15,000 metres of new fabric for communities ready for a fresh start, creating opportunities, skills, and livelihoods along the way. Across communities throughout Fiji, these donations are having a real and immediate impact, giving kids the confidence of a new uniform, supporting families, and empowering local makers and workers with valuable resources for a better future. Together, we’re proving that when good quality products are put to good use, they can create lasting impact and a brighter future for many. #Sustainability #Community #Reuse #CircularFashion #Partnership #GivingBack

It will get spooky very soon. From candy wrappers to disposable decorations to costumes that are often only worn once, it's time to rethink Halloween waste. Here’s how organizations and facility managers can lead the way: 👻 Establish costume and decor donation or swap programs. 👻 Reuse decor and costumes as much as you can. 👻 Educate staff and tenants: most decorations, which are plastic and mixed-media, do not belong in recycling bins. 👻 Prepare to address food waste through donations or a diversion program 🔍 Read more: Reduce Halloween Waste, Avoid Recycling Horrors https://lnkd.in/eJ2hKtyk #Sustainability #ZeroWaste #Halloween #GreatForest

"In the U.S., Renee Barker noted the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has estimated that 84% of donated clothing ends up in landfills or incinerators. To combat this, LiquiDonate's Magic Matches program collaborates with retailers to address the inefficiency of returns that often travel thousands of miles back and forth to various warehouses. Available in every U.S. state, customers follow the same return process as usual; however, the package is sent to a nearby nonprofit." We’re thrilled to share that LiquiDonate and our very own Renee Barker are featured in this month’s Recommerce Intelligence Report! 🙌 The report dives into how brands, retailers, and innovators are reshaping the way products flow after their first life– from recommerce to repair to donation. Seeing our mission to make circular logistics simple recognized alongside global leaders is a huge moment for the team 💚 #TeamLiquiDonate #Recommerce #CircularEconomy #Sustainability #GreenSupplyChain #ReverseLogistics #RetailReturns

Turning trash into community impact ♻️ At APEM Group, we’re proud to embed sustainability into the heart of our fieldwork through our Cash for Trash initiative. As part of our surveys across the UK’s rivers, lakes, and coastlines, our teams collect and recycle litter, helping to prevent microplastic pollution before it starts. Here’s how it works: 🧺 Litter collection is built into our field surveys 💚 For every bag collected, our Charity Fund donates to local environmental causes 🤝 Clients can match-fund donations and opt in via tenders 🌍 Already adopted by the Mersey Tidal Project It’s a simple idea with powerful impact - reducing waste, supporting local charities, and strengthening our ESG contribution from the ground up. 📥 Download our ESG Report and head to page 19 to learn more: https://lnkd.in/eVDVtTeG #esgreport #sustainability #cashfortrash #environmentalimpact #communityaction #wasteprevention

⏰ 𝗥𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿: Local councils and charities can apply for grants to establish or upgrade battery recycling drop-off points in convenient locations such as libraries and op-shops. Waste collectors and fire rescue organisations, including Fire Rescue Victoria, have reported an increase in collection truck fires caused by batteries put in kerbside bins. 🔥 Delivering more locations for Victorians to safely recycle batteries including those embedded in vapes, toys and e-scooters, will help keep hazardous waste out of bins and reduce the risk of fires. 👉 For more information and to apply: https://lnkd.in/gBnSZMEF

What if every bottle you recycled helped fund your local school? That’s the kind of community impact the UK’s Deposit Return Scheme can deliver. Reverse Vending Machines aren’t just tools for compliance — they can be set up to channel incentives straight back into local projects: ✅ Fundraising for schools ✅ Supporting charities ✅ Backing grassroots sports clubs ✅ Improving community spaces It means every small recycling action creates a ripple effect of positive change. At Regen Enviro, working with EcoVend, we believe RVMs should be more than machines. They should be community assets — visible proof that sustainability isn’t just about carbon or compliance, but about people and places too. When DRS goes live in 2027, businesses that link their RVMs to local causes won’t just meet regulation. They’ll win loyalty, goodwill, and pride from the communities they serve. Question for you: If an RVM could support a cause in your community, where would you want the funds to go? www.regenenviro.com #RegenEnviro #EcoVend #DRS #CircularEconomy #ReverseVending #Community

This is exactly why we believe Reverse Vending Machines should be seen as community assets, not just recycling units. Every bottle returned can do more than reduce waste — it can raise funds for schools, support charities, and give something tangible back to local communities. At Regen Enviro, in partnership with EcoVend, we’re committed to making the Deposit Return Scheme about more than compliance. It’s about creating pride, ownership, and visible benefits where people live, work, and learn. Because sustainability isn’t just about the planet — it’s about people too. #RegenEnviro #EcoVend #DRS #CircularEconomy #ReverseVending #Community

🌍 This Circular Economy Week we paid a visit to Wandsworth’s Work & Play Scrapstore to explore how our partners are cutting carbon emissions. We went behind the scenes to find out how the charity is diverting 60 tonnes of waste from landfill and incineration every year, while providing valuable resources for the local community.
