🌍 Another key milestone on our pathway towards net zero emissions by 2050. This week, MSC World Europa and EXPLORA II both connected to shore power at Valletta’s Grand Harbour on consecutive days – marking a first for MSC Group’s Cruise Division. The milestone, celebrated in the presence of Malta’s Prime Minister, Dr Robert Abela, and senior government officials, underscores our shared commitment to cleaner port operations, eliminating local emissions and improving local air quality. Since the inauguration of the facility in 2024 – when MSC World Europa became the first vessel to use the facility – MSC Cruises’ ships have spent about 300 hours connected to shore power in Valletta, eliminating half a month’s worth of local emissions that would have otherwise been produced while berthed. With 18 vessels now equipped across the MSC Cruise Division with shore-side electricity capability, we’re continuing to expand our shore power programme across Europe and beyond. 🔗 Discover how partnership and innovation in Malta are powering our next steps toward net zero emissions: https://lnkd.in/eBGiHBQj Explora Journeys #MSCCruises #ExploraJouneys

This is fantastic progress. Seeing a company lead the way with real, measurable steps like this is so inspiring. It’s exactly this kind of forward-thinking and commitment to sustainability that drives my passion for the maritime industry. It would be a true pleasure to one day contribute to the MSC Cruises team and its mission towards a net zero future.
