MODEC joins International Association of Oil and Gas Producers (IOGP)

MODEC’s entry into IOGP is a powerful reminder of how collaboration drives safer and smarter operations across our industry. Founded over 55 years ago, MODEC is a global company and a leader in the engineering, construction, chartering, and operation of floating production, storage, and offloading unites (FPSOs and FSOs). It operates in 18 countries through offices on five continents with more than 6,000 professionals around the world. “We are delighted to welcome MODEC to IOGP. ICE has signed a contract with STTM, an Indonesian joint venture formed by Saipem, Tripatra and McDermott, to deliver hull engineering services for the Abadi Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel.   The agreement, signed in London in October, covers Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) and early engineering activities in support of STTM’s bid for this major INPEX-led subsea gas development offshore Indonesia. Representatives of STTM and ICE gathered at ICEPRONAV ENGINEERING SRL’s design office complex in Galați, Romania, for the project kick-off meeting together with representatives from INPEX Masela Limited later that month. The productive discussions focused on project execution, alignment of engineering interfaces, and establishing effective communication channels between the consortium teams. ICE’s Abadi FPSO project involvement builds on ICE’s extensive experience in FPSO marine design, gained from nearly 50 previous FPSO and FSO projects including technical studies, conversions and newbuilds. The Norwegian firm will provide FPSO Gato do Mato with a large-capacity marine compressed air system, including compressors to supply control and service air on board the vessel. The value of the contract has not been disclosed. The FPSO Gato do Mato – Orca project is being carried out through a partnership between Shell (50%), as operator, Ecopetrol (30%), and TotalEnergies (20%), with Pré-Sal Petróleo S/A (PPSA) participating as the production sharing contract manager. DeepOcean is awarded a subsea installation contract by Equinor The contract covers construction and installation work as part of Equinor’s Snorre Export and Import Gas Project (SNEIG) in the northern North Sea. The subsea scope includes the installation of a safety isolation valve (SSIV), umbilical and pipeline tie-in, as well as preparatory subsea construction activities. The project will be managed from DeepOcean’s office in Haugesund and executed offshore during the summer of 2026. "This is a complex subsea project that underlines Equinor's dedication to responsible resource utilisation through life-of-field extensions.
