We are delighted and very proud of Leana El-Hourani and the Mission Australia IT team, who were yesterday awarded the NFP Security Leader for 2025 at the prestigious Benchmark Security Awards. The Benchmark Security Awards are run jointly by iTnews and techpartner.news and celebrate leadership in cyber security across Australian businesses. Leana El-Hourani and the team received the award at a gala dinner held at Doltone House in Sydney, for their work around the Security Uplift Project. It’s great to see their hard work get recognition externally, for having made Mission Australia a safer digital place.
Congratulations Leana!

Mission Australia and CIO Peter Smith are very fortunate to have Leanna on the team. Having worked with and observed Leanna in action during my time at Mission Australia, I truly came to value her dedication and thoughtful leadership. She understands that protecting a business also means educating and supporting people, a rare and special skill. Congratulations, Leanna!
