🚀 T-Mobile’s Fiber Push Supercharges Its FWA Ambitions 🚀 T-Mobile has now connected 500,000+ households with fiber across 10 states — and that infrastructure is giving its Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) offerings a serious boost Here’s why this matters: 🌐 Backhaul power: Fiber close to homes strengthens network capacity, making FWA faster and more reliable. 💰 Cost-effective rollouts: Deploying fiber up to the curb (~last 100 ft) avoids expensive trenching before switching to FWA 🤝 Strategic acquisitions: The Lumos JV is live, and a Metronet deal is on the horizon — meaning deeper control without relying on third parties 📈 Scale and opportunity: With ~6.9 million FWA customers (and 1M+ on the waitlist), plus plans to hit 12–15 million fiber passings, the combo of fiber + wireless is poised to accelerate growth This along with the recent MetroNet M&A puts them in a very strong position moving forward ⚡ #fiber #isp #mpls #fixedwireless

Verizon's Starry Acquisition: A Major Boost for FWA 🚀 Well, well, well. The broadband landscape just got a little... accelerated. You saw the news—Verizon is acquiring Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) provider, Starry. ✨ This isn't just another industry acquisition; it's a very strategic chess move that directly strengthens our hand in delivering high-speed internet to complex, dense environments. For our Connecticut Mid-Market clients, here is the takeaway: This acquisition means better, faster FWA is coming. 🔥 Starry’s innovative approach leverages millimeter wave (mmWave) technology and a quick-to-deploy, cost-effective architecture that is perfect for navigating urban settings and Multi-Dwelling Units (MDUs). The goal is clear: accelerate our FWA capabilities and bring a powerful, affordable broadband option to millions of new customers. We're officially doubling down on making sure that space currently dominated by cable companies is now wide open for superior Verizon connectivity. And it’s interesting, I saw Starry had a Net Promoter Score that was nearly double the industry average. 🩷 That’s what we want. When you find a technology that not only works but delights the customer so much they don't even have to call back? It's like finding a dollar in a coat pocket you haven't worn since last winter—you forget about it, but then, bam! Free money. Except this is highly strategic mmWave spectrum. Very different. Very exciting. Let's talk about how this enhanced FWA portfolio can simplify your organization's connectivity needs—especially as Copper/POTS lines sunset, demanding reliable alternatives. 💻 Our team has the expanded toolset to get it done. Reach out and I will help you map out your modern FWA solution. #FWA #FixedWirelessAccess #5G #Broadband #VerizonBusiness #TechSolutions #CTBusiness #MidMarket https://lnkd.in/eqEZ3WQd

Verizon Expands Its Wireless Broadband Network with the Acquisition of Starry 🚀 In a strategic move to strengthen its fixed wireless access (FWA) services portfolio, Verizon has announced the acquisition of Starry Group Holdings, an innovative high-speed internet provider. This transaction, valued at approximately 1.325 billion dollars (including debt), aims to enhance Verizon's offerings in urban and suburban markets where fast connectivity is essential. Key Details of the Acquisition 📡 - Verizon will integrate Starry's technology, which uses millimeter waves to deliver speeds of up to 1 Gbps, expanding its FWA coverage to more than 30 markets in the US. - This purchase accelerates Verizon's efforts to compete with rivals like T-Mobile and AT&T in the growing sector of residential wireless broadband, reducing dependence on traditional cables. - Starry, founded in 2014, has served more than 100,000 customers with its low-cost and rapid deployment model, which complements Verizon's existing infrastructure. Impact on the Telecommunications Industry 🌐 The acquisition highlights the trend towards FWA as a viable alternative to fiber optics, especially in hard-to-reach areas. For Verizon, this means greater scalability and operational efficiency, allowing users to enjoy integrated 5G services with lower latency. Analysts predict that FWA could capture up to 20% of the broadband market in the coming years, driven by demands for remote work and streaming. Saturday School: On the Road with Theresa Brown As we heard this week of a $2.7Bn network modernisation plan for VodafoneThree, we will see fewer and fewer of these legacy 2G/4G sites, a 15m monopole where the antennas sit behinds a Radome, slightly above trees around 12m high. This site is less than a mile from Bognor Regis beach, with farmland to the rear and homes in front. It’s likely to see a significant bump in performance, I’d expect to see a Phase 7 Mark 2 with dual massive MIMO and shared antennas to replace this Phase 5. Permission already exists for a 17.5M Phase 8 single Massive MIMO predating the merger announcement and requiring a higher capacity VodafoneThree capability in addition to EEs previous plans. Excluding VMO2 Site Upgrades, we should expect to see at least 17000 sites upgraded in the coming years, so significantly upgraded mobile experience. #Mobile #Telecoms #Networks 📱 #EveryDaysaSchoolDay Previous Post : https://lnkd.in/eqe7whpA
