Director of Brand, Marketing & Business Development (Industry, Water & Energy) at Veolia UK

The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has released their latest provisional determinations in relation to AMP8, the eighth Asset Management Period running from 2025 to 2030 and whilst we're set to see record levels of investment across the UK Water Industry, the need for sustainable water management has never been more essential. Non-household water charges are set to increase by around 42% by 2030, according to Market Operator Services Limited (MOSL), with the sharpest hikes hitting as soon as 2025–26. The potential removal of Large User Tariffs (LUTs) could further expose industrial users to these escalating costs. At the same time, water scarcity is becoming a critical risk with the Environment Agency warning that seven UK regions could face water stress by as early as 2030. But there are great opportunities within these dual challenges. By rethinking water management at Veolia UK leading with circular principles and closed-loop water solutions, we can help industrial customers reduce costs, support environmental goals, and build resilience for the future. We deliver this through: 💧 Smart monitoring to identify leaks and reduce consumption 💧 Water-efficient technologies tailored to your operations 💧 On-site reuse and recycling to create closed-loop systems 💧 Turning wastewater into biogas and nutrient-rich bio-fertiliser 💧 Recovering waste heat across your water network For manufacturers and process operators, securing reliable and affordable water is now as vital as managing energy or raw materials.
