This is a timely and important step forward to build an open culture to adding security by default and sharing the same. As AI becomes a core component of modern cyber defense, we need transparent, real-world benchmarking to separate hype from operational capability. Excited to see this push toward measurable AI performance in cybersecurity. Glad to see such progress made in this journey. #security #microsoft #innovation #securefuture

Attention CISOs & tech leaders: Microsoft is raising the benchmark for AI in cybersecurity — and this matters for your bottom line. Microsoft introduces ExCyTIn‑Bench, a benchmarking tool that simulates real‑world SOC workflows, noisy multitable data and multistage cyber‑investigations — not just trivia or static questions. Here’s the gist: • It lets you evaluate how an AI actually thinks, investigates and explains — rather than simply guessing correct answers. • It’s open‑source, allowing your team or vendors to benchmark models transparently and compare “how they arrive at results” rather than just “what they output”. • Early data show models with stronger chain‑of‑thought and reasoning score significantly better — underlining that thinking processes matter for threat investigations. If you’re planning AI‑powered cybersecurity investments, ask not just “what accuracy” a model claims — ask how it navigates real incident complexity, deals with noise, and explains its findings. ExCyTIn‑Bench gives you a tool to demand that level of rigor. Let’s shift from “can this AI guess right” to “can this AI defend right”. #Cybersecurity #AI #Benchmarking #SecOps #CISO #MicrosoftSecurity

F5 Networks CX has warned that adaptive AI models are being exploited by attackers. Hackers are using model-based probing to find weaknesses and bypass safeguards. Adaptive AI in cyber-defense is being challenged by AI-driven offensive techniques. This requires security platforms to evolve beyond static threat signatures. Real-time model-validation, adversarial-robust training, and explainable AI are becoming essential. Security architects must assume the attacker also has AI. Trust in AI systems is no longer optional—it’s core to design. Defense-in-depth now includes adversarial testing suites. The stakes are higher as automation scales across networks. 📰 My latest article for Forbes Technology Council is live: "SaaS Security Illusions: Why Most Tools Can't Detect Major Threats Like ShinyHunters." Too many enterprises are still trying to defend SaaS the way they defend servers as isolated systems. Attackers don't think that way. They exploit the connections between them. In the article, I talk about why so many security stacks still miss modern attacks and what needs to change: • Real-time visibility into how data actually moves between SaaS apps and AI tools • Correlating behaviors across users, APIs, and non-human identities • Ending alert silos through anomaly stacking and unified detection The next breach will be stopped by teams who can see their SaaS and AI ecosystems as a single connected organism. There's definitely a bit of a mind shift happening. Instead of viewing each SaaS app as an individual security challenge focused on config, you now need get visibility and control over the converged SaaS and AI ecosystem.
