It was a pleasure to attend Bisnow’s Data Centres Europe Conference in London this week and take part in a panel discussion around the financing and powering of data centres. Despite the rainy November Tuesday, the room was full, highlighting just how relevant this topic is for our industry today. The conversation with Pascale Labrecque, Alexis Kantt and Jack Shand was insightful and thought-provoking, covering the challenges and opportunities shaping the future of data centre investment. I was able to sit down after the panel and reflect on the key takeaways: the significant interest from a range of stakeholders from from lawyers to property professionals to investors, the importance of location including clustering of data centres in order to share infrastructure, the common constraint of power and the strength of demand in core locations. Thank you to everyone who came up to continue the conversation afterward or connected with me: collaboration and conversations like this are critical in this exciting and fast moving space.
