A question that keeps coming up in conversations lately is: “Why do TREs need an Airlock at all?” Because TREs host incredibly sensitive biomedical data - genomic, clinical, demographic - and global security and governance standards like the 5 Safes, GDPR, HIPAA and FedRAMP, among many others, all require strict oversight of what leaves the environment.
