Share a coffee with kisala Pius, the founder of Kidi Coffee & Juices, a social enterprise empowering youth and farmers in Uganda's coffee sector. After losing both his parents, he had to drop out of university to start a job and support himself. While working at a coffee shop his fascination for this world grew: by interacting with baristas he discovered how coffee is crafted. This led to becoming a barista and co-founding a training school. During the pandemic, Kidi Coffee & Juices was born, embodying the mantra of “Knowledge Inspiring Determination, and Inventory.” Pius shares how the Fondazione Lavazza and Sawa World’s support was crucial for expanding his business, enhancing training and aiding coffee farmers. The future vision for Kidi is ambitious: “I aim to establish our institute as the leading coffee academy in Uganda, specializing in the entire coffee value chain from crop to cup” says Pius. His intent is not only to create an impact on the coffee sector but also to empower the next generation of coffee professionals.

1 in 3 students has gone an entire day without food. We're here to change that. It's a hidden crisis on our campuses. Studies show nearly 60% of South African university students face food insecurity. For the "missing middle" and those on financial aid, the struggle is acute. We are Stellies Kos, a student-powered solution born in the heart of Stellenbosch and co-founded by Tsundzuka Mnisi and David Mwangi to fight this crisis. Our platform connects local restaurants, technology, and students to build a system that: • Fights Food Waste: Our "KosForLess" program helps restaurants sell surplus food as affordable meals. • Fights Hunger: Our "KosForNothing" initiative provides digital vouchers to make these meals 100% free for students who need them most. This is more than a food delivery app. It's a sustainable, scalable solution to ensure no student has to study hungry. Welcome to our page. Follow us as we scale this solution across South Africa. #KOSFORLESS #STELLIESKOS #KOSFORNOTHING

Today, we launched the Tanzania Coffee Hub–UK — a new bridge connecting our farmers, cooperatives, and exporters directly with roasters, retailers, and hospitality buyers across the UK and Europe. The Hub promotes traceability, transparency, and fair trade, ensuring Tanzanian coffee reaches consumers faster, fresher, and with the authentic story of our farmers. We celebrate strong partnerships — KPD, Coffeelink, Fremu, Vollers UK, and our financial institutions Tanzania Agricultural Development Bank, CRDB Bank Plc , and NMB Bank Plc — working together to strengthen the value chain. I am grateful to the World Coffee Alliance (WCA) and Joseph for hosting this launch during the World Coffee Innovation Summit. When Tanzanian coffee rises, so do our farmers, communities, and nation. 🇹🇿 #TanzaniaCoffee #Trade #Innovation #Sustainability #UKTanzania #CoffeeHubUK
