Have you started any AI projects recently? Ben Bausili released a new blog on why AI projects should start today! He covers information from the perfect data fallacy to how to start using AI in a smart way rather than perfecting it on the first use. Read more here: https://lnkd.in/gBUxbHtx

80% of public servants report trying Al tools, but only around 35% use them in regular, embedded daily workflows. 📃 As part of Apolitical Government AI Campus we have just released a new insights briefing on generative AI in government — drawing on over 300 initiatives from nine countries — which dives into the question of how public servants are actually implementing AI, and how governments can translate experimentation into impact at scale. Today we’re launching Generative AI in Government: An in depth look at adoption, innovation and impact in 2025, as part of the Apolitical Government AI Campus We looked at over 300 project descriptions of generative AI in government to understand how the technology is being implemented and used. There are pockets of outstanding innovation and success — like GovTech Singapore’s AI Bots platform — but also a lot of small scale early experimentation with uncertain impact. ⚒️ What’s clear is that the vast majority of generative AI applications are still quite ‘manual’ — they depend on public servants to actively use and manage new tools and, crucially, take responsibility for outputs. 📈There’s a pretty clear body of evidence from well over 20,000 public servants that AI confidence is linked to more intense, effective and innovative use of AI. Headline figures about AI usage often mask a more complex reality, where public servants actually use tools quite infrequently, with mixed feelings about its impact. 🧑💻Where governments are getting more success with generative AI, it’s because they are adapting services, integrating it with multiple other technologies and opening up new sources of data, from Facebook posts to map descriptions. Check out the in-depth series of briefs: # 1 How leaders can help unlock greater generative AI impact in government # 2 Three ways governments can approach using generative AI # 3How governments are building creative tools with generative AI # 4 How governments are using generative AI to manage and analyse data # 5 How governments are using generative AI to respond more quickly https://lnkd.in/eV2F-DUP https://lnkd.in/eSmXYHk7

My colleague (and all around smart guy) Bradford Houser brought this article to my attention. It discusses using AI for scheduling with limited capacity and compares it to completing a sudoku puzzle without much information and is very interesting. Let me know what you think. https://lnkd.in/gUasR9BP

So I didn't fully explain last week... I've been wondering about just how much more effectively we can learn with AI. So what better way to test this than to try to learn something as fast as I can with the help of AI? And of course, what better to learn about than AI? All good courses have assessments, so I'm also writing a piece each week reflecting on what I learned. This week I looked at AI alignment, why it may never be solvable, and wrote about what that might means for the balance of power. Check it out ;) https://lnkd.in/etZ_KPZz
