InductiveHealth’s Post

How can state health departments turn fragmented hospital data into actionable insights for public health? In July 2024, Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) partnered with InductiveHealth to develop a local syndromic surveillance system. By onboarding hospitals into the Electronic Surveillance System for the Early Notification of Community-based Epidemics (ESSENCE®), the Department of Health was able to strengthen data quality, enhance data completeness, and empower teams across key program areas like: ✅ Substance use epidemiology ✅ Violence and injury prevention ✅ Environmental health All 10 acute care hospital emergency departments in Rhode Island are now reporting data directly to ESSENCE—leading to measurable improvements in data accuracy and an increased ability of state leaders to detect and address events of public health importance. 👉 Read how RIDOH and InductiveHealth collaborated to enhance data quality through ESSENCE: https://lnkd.in/e2dcpfWP #PublicHealth #DataModernization #SyndromicSurveillance #ESSENCE #InductiveHealth
