🚀 Webinar Insights: Smart Solutions, Real Results with Ignition Yesterday, I had the opportunity to attend the webinar “Smart Solutions, Real Results: Discover Integrators’ Best Ignition Projects”, hosted on the Inductive Automation platform and moderated by Don Pearson It was an incredibly informative session showcasing real-world Ignition applications in different industries around the world. Each integrator shared valuable technical insights from their ongoing or completed projects — covering PLC/SCADA modernization, data integration, HMI innovation, production scheduling, and enterprise-level digital transformation. Below are some highlights from each presentation: 🔹 1 — Damian Hewitt (SAFEgroup Automation (SGA) — Dept. of Environment and Water Damian presented a major modernization project for water infrastructure, focusing on operational resilience and community safety. Key Technical Points from the Project: ✔ Seamless integration across distributed assets ✔ First-of-its-kind modernization for the department This project clearly showed the power of Ignition when applied to large-scale, multi-site water systems. 🔹 2 — Nigel F. (Actemium) — Smart Scheduler for Production Scheduling Nigel presented the Smart Scheduler, an Ignition-based solution designed to improve complex manufacturing scheduling. Innovative Features Delivered: ✔ Direct ERP integration → Reduced manual input ✔ Visual dashboards to track schedule performance This was a great example of how Ignition can simplify planning and eliminate bottlenecks in manufacturing. 🔹 3 — Kristopher Goli (Insight Engineering Australia Pty Ltd— Haymes Paint SPEC-PRO Platform Kristopher showcased SPEC-PRO, an Ignition-based specification platform for Haymes Paint. Technical Highlights: • Automates, tracks, and validates specification workflows • Digitizes legacy processes This presentation demonstrated how Ignition can move beyond SCADA into enterprise-level digital transformation. 🔹 4 — Benjamin Gaspard (The Integration Group of Americas Inc. (TIGA) / EXCO Resources) Ben shared a very impressive system overhaul for EXCO Resources, modernizing their SCADA, HMI, and data architecture. Initial Challenges: • Backend instabilities and single-gateway overload • Mobile access limitations Solutions Implemented: ✔ Full system upgrade to Ignition 8.1 ✔ Data model restructured using UDTs, Instances & UNS A fantastic real example of how Ignition can elevate operational performance at scale. 🙏 Huge thanks to all the speakers — Damian Hewitt, Nigel Flynn, Kristopher Goli, and Ben Gaspard — for sharing such remarkable insights into their projects. And a special thanks to Don Pearson for moderating this amazing session and to Inductive Automation for creating a platform where professionals can learn from real industry implementations. #Ignition #InductiveAutomation #SCADA #PLC #Automation #DigitalTransformation #IndustrialAutomation #HMI #MES #SCADASystems
