More than 50 years ago, we opened our first hotel in Mexico - Holiday Inn Acapulco in 1970 - marking the start of an uninterrupted journey in one of our most established markets. The region also holds a special place in our global story as the cradle of the InterContinental Hotels & Resorts brand, with the very first InterContinental opening its doors in Belém, Brazil, in 1946. Today, our footprint in Latin America spans 25 countries, with 289 hotels open and 105 more in the pipeline, reflecting both our deep commitment and the vast potential of this vibrant region. We are expanding across every segment, from the signing of six new voco Hotels in Mexico to the debut of the Vignette Collection in South America with SOUMA Hotel Lima in Peru. We're so proud to build on our decades-long presence with fresh brands, bold openings and an enduring belief in the people and places that make this part of the world so extraordinary. From Cozumel to Cartagena, Lima to São Paulo, every stay adds a new chapter to our MLAC story and we’ve still got so much more to come.
