This is where the real value of agentic AI will be decided — not just in the novelty of agents themselves, but in how openly they can coordinate across ecosystems, vendors, data contracts and model topologies. We’ve seen repeatedly in enterprise delivery: “closed + siloed” kills momentum faster than bad architecture. Agentic AI only becomes transformative when it sits on top of: • shared semantic models • clean interfaces + operable contracts • responsible governance + cost control • deployment flexibility — edge included Small Granite models at the edge + open orchestration is a far more meaningful sign of maturity than yet another “bigger is better” benchmark slide. The champions of the next wave won’t be the ones with the largest model — they’ll be the ones who can consistently ship usable, governed outcomes across heterogeneous environments. That’s where the European advantage can emerge: interoperability > vanity horsepower.
