✨ Exciting news! A few months back, I had the privilege of teaming up with the incredible folks at HP Foundation and HP LIFE to help create something I’m truly passionate about—a new online course called Professional Networking for Career Growth. Why does this matter? Because authentic connections open doors. They spark ideas, create opportunities, and help us all thrive. I was honored to share some of my own tips for building a strong, sustainable network—because networking isn’t about collecting contacts, it’s about building relationships that last. What makes this course even more special is the collaboration behind it. Our social impact partners—Mission 44 (founded by F1 champion Lewis Hamilton), America On Tech, and Miami EdTech—brought their expertise and heart to the table. They know firsthand how critical networking is for preparing young people for careers in STEM. Here’s the best part: ✅ It’s FREE ✅ Takes less than an hour ✅ Gives learners practical tools to build a network, unlock opportunities, and thrive in the future of work The course is live now, and I couldn’t be more excited about how it turned out! This National Career Development Month, let’s spread the word and empower as many people as possible to turn skills into opportunity. Share the link far and wide—you never know whose future you might help shape. 👉 Start the course here: https://lnkd.in/d6jFJPeG #FutureOfWork #Networking #CareerGrowth #STEMSkills #HPFoundation #HP #HPLIFE

Helping students articulate how their skills align with employer needs is one of the most powerful ways higher education can deliver on its promise. 🎓 As Mike Wulff, our Chief Product & Technology Officer, notes — when we connect learning to opportunity, everyone benefits. Students gain confidence in their abilities, employers find the talent they need, and institutions strengthen their impact. Discover how your institution can take the next step in bridging this skills-to-careers gap in Ellucian’s new white paper: 👉 https://lnkd.in/erzBe8Dt #HigherEducation #StudentSuccess #EdTech #InnovationInEducation #SkillsBasedLearning #CareerReadiness

Career-ready isn’t enough. Students deserve to be community-ready, too. For too long, we’ve defined “readiness” by technical skills and job placement. But young people don’t step into jobs alone. They step into communities, civic networks, and cultural landscapes that demand not just productivity—but empathy, discernment, and care. That’s why our Future9 competencies go beyond collaboration and problem-solving. Imagine a student using the framework to: ➜ Reflect on leadership skills in a first job ➜ Set personal growth goals with a mentor ➜ Work with an employer on competencies essential for thriving in both work and community That kind of coherence creates continuity not just for learning, but for identity. 🔁 The Shift Before: Readiness = skills for hire, employers assess in isolation After: Readiness = skills for learning, work, and community, shared across schools, employers, and young people ⚡ If we keep defining readiness too narrowly, we’ll keep underpreparing young people for the full weight of participation. Frameworks like Future9 expand the frame—not for another checklist, but for human flourishing.

At Certainly, this is the work we’re focused on: helping teams translate real IP into certifications that people can adopt, renew, and carry into their industries. With AI reshaping jobs, tuition climbing, and online learning normalizing, the way people build careers is shifting. Programs that used to feel out of reach can now launch quickly, without waiting on academic calendars or accreditation cycles. The clearest signal yet: 529 college savings plans can now be used for third-party certifications and industry credentials. That means the market is recognizing what many already know, skills don’t only come from universities. They come from experts who codify their methods and from organizations that build credible, recognized standards. Here’s what that shift makes possible: – Faster entry to the job market with relevant skills – Credentials that employers already understand and value – More affordable, flexible alternatives to traditional degrees Higher education will remain important, yet the future depends on adding new, faster paths to skills and careers. Certification is becoming the bridge between expertise and opportunity. Would you trust a certification over a degree if it got someone job-ready faster?
