The Undersecretary of War for Research & Engineering (R&E), Emil Michael, has officially reduced R&E’s Critical Technology Areas from 14 to six, sharpening the United States Department of War's focus to the most urgent and impactful defense capabilities. As Mr. Michael puts it, "Our adversaries are moving fast, but we will move faster." At Hermeus, we're fully aligned with this direction and moving fast, especially R&E’s decision to prioritize #ScalingHypersonics as one of its six core focus areas. Every day we're bending metal, firing engines, and building aircraft faster than deemed possible in pursuit of affordable, scalable hypersonic capabilities. With R&E's, the Defense Innovation Unit (DIU)'s, and Hon Mike Dodd's leadership — along with ever-growing public/private partnerships — American ingenuity will unlock affordable, scalable hypersonic technologies for the warfighter and the nation. The threats we face are clear, and Hermeus is building for the nation. Fast. https://lnkd.in/dRGf6mzX
