WA Health is expanding access to safe, expert-led emergency care through WAVEDkids, a dedicated virtual service for paediatric patients within the WA Virtual Emergency Department (WAVED). Families calling Healthdirect (1800 022 222) may be offered a WAVEDkids consultation, enabling clinical assessment, medication prescribing, and follow-up care – without a physical ED visit. Delivered by senior ED clinicians, WAVEDkids supports safe home management and ensures timely escalation when needed.
