WA Health launches WAVEDkids for virtual pediatric care

This title was summarized by AI from the post below.

WA Health is expanding access to safe, expert-led emergency care through WAVEDkids, a dedicated virtual service for paediatric patients within the WA Virtual Emergency Department (WAVED). Families calling Healthdirect (1800 022 222) may be offered a WAVEDkids consultation, enabling clinical assessment, medication prescribing, and follow-up care – without a physical ED visit. Delivered by senior ED clinicians, WAVEDkids supports safe home management and ensures timely escalation when needed. It’s a scalable, patient-centred model that aims to reduce ED pressure while maintaining high standards of care. #WAVEDkids #VirtualEmergencyCare #Paediatrics #Telehealth #WAHealth #HealthInnovation #EmergencyMedicine

Great work Department of Health (WA Health) . Virtual care has a big role to play in meeting the needs of communities whilst ensuring the right level of care is delivered directly into a consumers home negating the need for physical presentations ( where appropriate). Looking forward to watching the journey
