AI scams are a growing threat to landlords – here’s how to protect your clients "Today’s rental market is far riskier than it was a decade ago, with rental scams on the rise and growing more sophisticated with the spread of generative artificial intelligence (AI). Data from SingleKey shows that around 15 per cent of tenant applications contain falsified documents, a climbing figure as renters struggle with affordability and job insecurity. For Realtors, it’s a business risk that can leave clients and agents facing unpaid rent, legal costs, and property damage that can total tens of thousands of dollars." People thought Stoyan (Tony) Stoyanov and I were crazy when we set out to build EliseAI. In their eyes, housing just wasn’t ready to embrace the changing world that we saw coming down the road. One where transactional work is automated so property management teams can focus on the human connections that make the work worth doing. So we built, and built, and built… And now, with the launch of our new "The State of AI in Multifamily" report, we're seeing the impact that the hard work of the entire EliseAI team has had on the way the multifamily industry operates. 92% of surveyed operators have already integrated AI into their operations 77% of operators surveyed have used AI to reduce operating expenses 85% of multifamily operators surveyed reported higher resident satisfaction scores AI is now foundational technology. Period. It's changing everything and the data backs it up. We love multifamily for its highs, its lows, and everything in between. We're humbled and excited to see the impact an idea (and a whole lot of building) has had on this massive industry. And we're excited to see how operators will continue to use AI to improve the resident experience. Check out the full "State of AI in Multifamily" report in the comments below to see both how far the industry has come, and where it's going in 2026 and beyond. In the meantime, we'll be building. #TheStateOfAI #ArtificialIntelligence #MultifamilyInnovation #PropertyManagement #DigitalTransformation

Platforms like Zillow and AI tools have drastically changed the way people search for properties. But while these tools offer convenience and can be kind of cool, they can’t replace the experience, instincts, and personal connection that come from working with a trusted real estate advisor. We believe that real estate is, and always will be, a human business. Here are 4 key reasons why you still need realtors: 1. Technology Can’t Replace Relationships 2. Local Knowledge Makes All the Difference 3. Hands-On Support Through Every Step 4. In this episode, Mark, Paul, and Chris discuss the impact of AI on the multifamily industry, exploring its role in addressing workforce challenges, enhancing training, and improving maintenance reporting. We delve into the balance between automation and the human touch, emphasizing the importance of data in maintenance and the need for the industry to adapt to technological advancements. The conversation highlights both the opportunities and concerns surrounding AI's integration into the workforce. AI is both a solution and a challenge in the multifamily industry. The multifamily industry contributes significantly to the U.S. economy. Technology can help fill the labor gap in the industry. There is a need for better training and retention of workers. AI can enhance data reporting and maintenance processes. The industry has not adequately listened to maintenance professionals' needs. Automation can improve efficiency but may reduce the need for human roles. Data entry for maintenance has become a focus in recent years. The balance between automation and human interaction is crucial. The industry must embrace change to thrive in the future. 𝐈𝐭’𝐬 𝐍𝐨𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐬 - 𝐈𝐭’𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐁𝐮𝐥𝐛𝐬. Before we launched our product, we assumed residents cared deeply about the terms of their leases and built much of our early AI model around lease interpretation. But when we looked at 5,000 plus real enquiries, the data told a different story. Most residents weren’t asking about clauses or covenants. They were asking about light bulbs that don’t work, gates that don’t lock, parcels scattered around, and bulk rubbish left in bin stores. Only a handful ever asked about lease interpretation. It was a light bulb moment for us and a reminder that in property management, getting the simple things right often makes the biggest difference. Behind every great building operation isn’t complex legal knowledge. It’s consistency, responsiveness, and attention to detail. At Tempest AI, our mission has evolved to reflect exactly that: helping property managers stay on top of what matters most to residents in real time. #PropertyManagement #PropTech #ResidentExperience #TempestAI #Innovation

The days of real estate agents being information gatekeepers are OVER. Here's what's actually happening in our industry right now: AI is handling the routine stuff - payment processing, maintenance requests, scheduling, document management. All automated. All in real-time. So what's left for agents? Everything that actually matters. → Complex negotiation strategies that require reading the room → Crisis management when deals go sideways at 11pm → Building those deep local relationships that generate referrals for decades → Strategic planning sessions that change clients' financial futures The transformation is profound: We're shifting from information processors to strategic partners. Think about it - agents today can leverage: - Hyperlocal market trends down to the street level - School performance trajectories over the next 5 years - Traffic pattern analysis for commute optimization - Climate risk projections affecting future property values - Construction plans that will impact neighborhood dynamics This isn't about AI replacing agents. It's about AI amplifying what makes us irreplaceable - our humanity, our local expertise, our ability to guide clients through life's biggest financial decisions. The agents who thrive won't be the ones fighting this change. They'll be the ones who embrace their evolution from gatekeepers to trusted advisors.
