🌟 Internship Update: Uncovering Investment Behaviour Through Data Analytics 📊💡 Excited to share another milestone from my Business Analytics internship Cognifyz Technologies! Over the past few days, I’ve been diving into deeper aspects of investor behaviour by analyzing preferences, motivations, and savings patterns using Python. Here’s what I explored in my latest tasks: 1️⃣ Most Preferred Investment Avenue Performed a frequency analysis and visualized the top investment choices among respondents. Mutual Funds emerged as the most preferred avenue, indicating trust in professionally managed and diversified options. 2️⃣ Reasons for Investment Choices Combined and analyzed multiple “reason” columns to uncover common motivations. The top drivers included Better Returns, Capital Appreciation, Assured Returns, and Safe/Risk-Free options, giving a clear view of investor decision-making patterns. 3️⃣ Savings Objectives Identified the primary financial goals of participants such as Retirement Planning, Health Care, and Education. These insights highlight long-term priorities and the importance of financial security among respondents. 🔍 These analytical steps are helping me build a clearer picture of investor personas and preferences, which will support future segmentation work and data-driven storytelling. I've had the opportunity to review the 2024–25 internship data of our department and have built a small Internship Insights Dashboard. Wow, the trends are incredibly interesting! This year, my classmates and I secured summer internship opportunities across 16 companies, with a mix of online, offline, and in-house modes. Nearly half of these were online. Additionally, only 7.4% were paid. By digging deeper, Data Science & Full Stack were the top domains, while AI & DS had the lead in paid internships. Some companies consistently hosted more interns, and most of the internships lasted around 8 weeks, providing them with good exposure. It has indeed been very interesting to note the variation of internship modes across domains, which domains top in share, and which companies drive opportunities in their respective fields. Paid vs unpaid distributions, company-wise mode breakdowns, and domain-specific trends all combined to give a clear picture of where opportunities lie. Building this dashboard really showed me how data can tell a story—helping students, mentors, and institutions understand patterns, make better decisions, and create more meaningful internship experiences.
