The "2025 Thales #Data #Threat #Report – Critical #Infrastructure Edition" is now available. This report includes the responses from 513 security leaders working for key energy, utilities, telecommunications and transportation organizations around the world. Among the highlights from the report are that 33% of critical infrastructure organizations are in advanced stages of #AI adoption, but 73% cited the fast-moving AI ecosystem as their top concern. Had a great visit to the US-EAST-1 data centre yesterday, even if I did spill my tea. Seriously though, when assessing solutions for mission critical jobs like safe navigation, how many fleet managers are looking at reliance on cloud infrastructure? Surely it should just work right? Some fleets will have woken up to the reality yesterday. These days I often hear talk of passage planning and navigation moving fully online, usually driven by a desire to simplify onboard infrastructure. In case you needed one, yesterday's major outage is a perfect example of why I don't believe we are ready to take safety critical data away from vessels in the near future.
