Clear communication builds trust, strengthens teams, and makes everything work better.
Functional Fundamental #1, Get Clear on Expectations, is all about respect. Respect for each other, for our time, and for the work we do.
When we slow down, ask questions, and make sure everyone is on the same page, we create space for collaboration, smoother teamwork, and better outcomes for those we serve.
Clarity builds connection, and connection drives results.
Functional fundamental number one: get clear on expectations. Because clarity builds connection, and connection, builds excellence. Getting clear on expectations really comes down to respect for each other, for our time, and for the work we do. We've all had those moments when communications slip or expectations aren't clear. It can be frustrating, right? But I've learned that most of the time, it's not about bad intentions. It's about slowing down and making sure we're on the same page. Sometimes that's as simple as acknowledging a message or saying, "Hey, I got this," or, "I'll get back to you soon." Little things like that go a long way. They show you care, and they keep trust strong. When communication is clear, everything works better. Teamwork feels smoother, stress levels drop, and patients notice the difference too. So take the time, to ask questions, to clarify, and to really listen. It's one of the simplest ways we can support each other and deliver our best.
