It’s World Kindness Day, so we’re spotlighting software engineer Shanikia Little and the many ways she uses her time, energy and skills to feed the community, get people healthy through movement, and mentor the next generation of STEM professionals. As a software engineer at Ford, Shanikia spends every day analyzing systems, identifying bottlenecks, and designing smarter workflows. Through the Ford Volunteer Corps, she was able to apply those skills to help a local food bank double their impact. “While volunteering during COVID, I noticed firsthand how complex large-scale food distribution could be. That experience helped me later contribute meaningful insights to the Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan improvement effort,” says Shanikia.
