Thanks to EXL for having me keynote their Sports & Media Industry Meetup in NYC last week. A great list of attendees from the NFL, NBA, NHL, MLS, MLB and other sports leagues, teams and media properties. My keynote and fireside chat discussed key challenges in viewer measurement and personalization, and these were some of the questions I discussed: - There is no universal metric for live streaming viewership (AMA, concurrent viewers, simultaneous, concurrent devices, unique viewers) - OTT platforms use their own metric definitions, MAV, MAU, etc. - Advertisers have limited cross-channel visibility - Streaming is a technology; SVOD, AVOD, FAST, PPV are service types/business models - Hard to compare broadcast versus streaming performance, and each requires a unique measurement approach - Some ad formats show promise (e.g., pause ads) - Customers reward simplicity, accuracy, clarity, not complexity or "innovation" There are no VOD archives, but you can check out the speaker lineup and program here: https://lnkd.in/ewH-eTPF #streamingmedia #videoworkflow ##GenAI #SVOD #sportsnews #AgenticAI Nekhil Agrawal
