I had access to Gemini 3. It is a very good, very fast model. It also demonstrates the change from chatbot to agent. And it is getting quite good (if not perfect) at independently doing graduate student level work. https://lnkd.in/evYTnSqe
Nice work. I wish more people would use AI to help them understand how to better use AI. That kind of loop and mindset shift (as opposed to lazy lookups and outsourcing thinking to chat models) is what is really going to increase our ability to solve humanity's problems
Alphabet has the resources to make up ground here, and in 3 months time Gemini is going to get more press. Any thoughts on Moonshot/Kimi?
was playing with it inside AI Studio earlier today and the sites/apps it could build were of unbeilaveble quality right out the gate
Ethan Mollick what I find most intriguing, is that these LLMs are getting better at running businesses. This is super interesting and valuable
Someone whose opinion I deeply value
It's been a while that I am wondering why the AI labs don't label CEO or VP of finance level of intelligence. It's easy to understand post-graduate level or PHD level of intelligence but that's an academic measure. In business, this helps in certain function like R&D. However, most of other domains, it's not pertinent. Sometimes you need principal engineering level of intelligence (aka 10X engineer) to tackle technical problems. Sometimes you need CEO level of intelligence to set up the right business strategy.
Seem like Google is catching up
Love this quote from the article: "“human in the loop” is evolving from “human who fixes AI mistakes” to “human who directs AI work.”". Thanks for sharing Ethan Mollick
Pretty high praise, looking forward to testing Gemini 3 myself.

3dOne thing to highlight about this piece for this community: throughout it you'll see a pattern, an argument for looking at this moment from a new lens in order to really see what is now possible: "What’s more interesting is . . . when you stop thinking of it as a chatbot and start thinking of it as something else entirely" "If you aren’t a programmer, you may dismiss Antigravity and similar tools. I think that is a mistake because the ability to code isn’t just about programming, it’s about being able to do anything that happens on a computer. And that changes what these tools actually are." This is a moment to lift our gaze and think about how we reframe what we know about using technology and what it makes possible, especially for those in non-technical roles.
