Kouga Municipality Announces Gravel Road Upgrade Project - Kouga News Kouga Municipality has issued a R24,5 million tender to upgrade 20km of gravel roads to asphalt across Hankey, Loerie, Humansdorp, and St Francis Bay. The 18-month project, led by GS Civils, follows recent upgrades in Jeffreys Bay and Humansdorp and aims to improve access with minimal disruption to communities.

Exciting news from Decmil 🚧👏 The Macmahon company has been awarded an $86 million civil contract with Major Road Projects Victoria for the Yan Yean Road — Northern Package project. The scope includes replacing the Yan Yean Road / Bridge Inn / Doctors Gully Road roundabout with a signalised intersection, and widening Yan Yean and Bridge Inn Roads to two lanes in each direction. Works are starting immediately for a 2027 completion. Works include full infrastructure and earthworks packages to all 6 plateaus, plus construction of 3 speculative units totalling 195,434 sq ft. Each unit will target BREEAM ‘Excellent’, EPC A+ rating and have a 15% target to reduce construction carbon. The Laing O'Rourke and Gamuda Australia Consortium is celebrating a major milestone bringing us one step closer to delivering the Sydney Metro West – Western Tunnelling Package, a key part of Australia’s biggest public transport project. After a mammoth two years of excavation, tunnel boring machine (TBM) Betty has successfully reached the end of her 9-kilometre tunnelling journey. During their visit on Monday 15 September, New South Wales Premier Chris Minns, said: “With this breakthrough at what will become Westmead Station, we are well on the way with this city shaping piece of transport infrastructure.” Minister for Transport, John Graham, said: “Seeing the first tunnel reach the end of the line, and the project’s furthest point west, is a moment to celebrate as the community here in the heart of western Sydney looks forward to its own metro line.” Over the course of tunnelling between Sydney Olympic Park to Westmead, the team managed to maintain an average advance rate of 200 metres per week, install around 30,000 precast concrete segments, and manage more than 790,000 tonnes of excavated material. #ThePowerOfExperience

The township spans 300 acres with 480 plots under three approved Local Area Plans (LAPs). - Infrastructure improvements: A Nu 155 million water supply project from Lemichhu has resolved a decade-long water shortage. Access roads, drainage systems, and protection walls are also completed, with streetlights and sewer lines planned. - Construction timeline and rules: Buildings must be completed within two years of approval, with a possible six-month extension. So far, no extensions have been requested. - Strategic commercial hub: Centrally located, Dagapela is envisioned as a key commercial center for 11 gewogs in Dagana Dzongkhag. - Impact of highway development: The Dagapela-Dalbari Secondary National Highway, completed in 2022, boosts connectivity and trade for over 500 households across five gewogs. - Business and resident adjustments: Shopkeepers and residents have relocated from temporary settlements to new buildings; however, they face challenges like congestion, dust, and competition from nearby towns. - Phased township planning: The town is being developed in three phases, covering the old town, highway to Shedra, and the Shedra area, with a long-term urban development blueprint in place. https://lnkd.in/gd475WuT
