Cossill & Webley Consulting Engineers’ Post

Perth’s housing pipeline continues to face significant pressure as the demand for new homes outpaces the delivery of enabling infrastructure. While the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage (DPLH) has clearly identified where housing supply should be delivered, the servicing required to support that growth—particularly water, wastewater and power networks—remains heavily constrained. The result is a widening gap between zoned and serviced land, reducing the industry’s ability to respond quickly to market demand and population growth. At the UDIA’s recent Infrastructure Summit, Cossill & Webley Director Nathan Butson highlighted the critical importance of aligning land use planning with infrastructure planning across Perth’s key Growth Corridor Areas. Nathan noted that the pace of infrastructure planning and inter-agency coordination is not keeping up with the State’s strategic planning intent. Without timely and targeted infrastructure planning, even the best-planned growth areas risk delays that hinder the release of much-needed housing supply. Cossill & Webley is here to help. With active projects across all eight Housing Priority Corridors and deep knowledge of servicing strategies, developer intentions and planning processes, we’re committed to supporting coordinated, scalable housing delivery. Backed by strong industry connections, strategic insight and a genuine #TeamWA mindset, we’re focused on enabling more affordable, well-serviced communities for Perth’s current and future residents.
