ConocoPhillips’ Post

Originally raised in June 2021 to mark National Indigenous History Month in Canada, this tipi (also tepee or teepee) stands at ConocoPhillips’ Surmont oil sands asset in the Athabasca region of northeastern Alberta. It is a meaningful symbol of our ongoing commitment to build respectful, trust-based relationships with Indigenous communities in the region. Through formal agreements, we work with these communities to identify mutual areas of interest and create lasting benefits. Additionally, we have worked with Indigenous-owned businesses near Surmont to help develop local capacity for more than two decades. See more: https://bit.ly/4hw2HWr
