On November 19, 2025, Mayor Dusty Thiele officially proclaimed GIS Day in Katy, recognizing the vital role Geographic Information Systems (GIS) plays in our community. GIS technology, in partnership with the Planning Department, helps the City of Katy plan for the future, manage infrastructure, protect natural resources, and support economic growth throughout Harris, Fort Bend, and Waller Counties.
