I sat in on this webinar today — really solid breakdown. What hit me most: Stretch isn’t about replacing labour. It’s about stabilizing the dock. Most inbound issues come from variability — inconsistent unload times, labour gaps, and the physical strain of repetitive work. Stretch turns unloading into a predictable, repeatable operation, and that changes everything: • smoother inbound flow • fewer exceptions • better labour allocation • faster turnaround at the dock This is the hybrid human–robot model warehouses have been waiting for. Great session from Boston Dynamics and ODW Logistics

It's great to see robotics and AI innovation at work. This reminds me of a story a friend of mine once told me about his grandfather, who worked in a warehouse before forklifts existed. Every day, he and a dozen others would spend hours moving boxes by hand, sweat, grit, and sore backs were the norm. When forklifts arrived, people panicked. “They’re taking our jobs!” the workers said. But within a year, the same people realized the machines didn’t take jobs they took tasks. The workers still worked but now, they managed logistics, tracked inventory, and optimized storage space. They went from moving boxes to moving the business forward. Robotics and AI is our generation’s forklift. It’s not here to replace the human spark that drives connection, creativity, and problem-solving, it’s here to lift the heavy boxes so we can focus on the work that really matters. Efficiency isn’t about doing less; it’s about freeing us to do what we were meant to do
