How can we best advance connected, intelligent care? Leaders from across the country came together for this year’s Grove Leadership Summit to answer this question. Three themes stood out: patient journeys are evolving with more complex care needs, physical and behavioral healthcare requires greater insight and integration and innovative partnerships are key to care accessibility. We left North Carolina inspired and ready to keep building a more connected future for care. The first 90 days can define a hospital leader’s entire tenure. Those early weeks aren’t just about proving yourself — they’re about listening, diagnosing, and building the foundation for long-term impact. One of the most effective ways to do that is by asking the right questions, the ones that uncover what’s really happening beneath the surface. I’ve compiled 15 essential questions that I think every new hospital leader should be asking in their first 90 days. These are diagnostic tools that pierce through surface-level reporting to reveal the real levers of transformation. They come from years of working alongside hospital executives and leadership teams navigating significant change. These questions aren’t theoretical — they’re practical, field-tested prompts that help leaders uncover what truly drives performance, culture, and engagement. Read the full list and see which ones resonate with your current challenges: 🔗 https://lnkd.in/ewxmGRgi What questions have been game-changers in your leadership journey? What a week at the 2025 Healthcare Leadership Conference! 🎉 As a healthcare communications professional, I went in looking for inspiration — and left with something even better: clarity. Every session, every hallway conversation came back to one truth: Communication isn’t just how we share information — it’s how we shape transformation. Whether the topic was leadership, innovation or data, the throughline was connection: the power of authentic communication to bridge ideas and inspire action. A few ideas I can’t stop thinking about: ✨ Great leaders are great storytellers. They don’t just set direction — they give people a reason to believe in it. ✨ Empathy and evidence aren’t opposites — they’re partners. The best insights mean nothing if we don’t communicate them with humanity. ✨ The future of healthcare will be written not just in strategy decks, but in how we communicate those strategies to the people who bring them to life. Here’s to the stories that move our industry forward. 💙 #HLC2025 #HealthcareLeadership #HealthcareCommunication
The 2025 Healthcare Leadership Conference brought together more than 250 healthcare leaders from across the country around this year’s theme: adapt, grow and evolve. Over two days, we explored what it means to lead through change while staying grounded in your purpose. The discussions revealed a clear insight: The path forward for healthcare will demand more than management — it will call for leadership that transforms to meet rapidly evolving conditions. The challenges ahead are immense, but they also present opportunities for reimagining what care can be. Through bold vision, empathy and forward-thinking strategy, today’s healthcare leaders can build systems that not only endure change but shape it for the better. We look forward to seeing you next year for HLC, October 22–23, 2026.

Leadership Resiliency – Strengthening a Critical Skill Over the last several months, I have been honored to chair an Executive Forum Pilot for the Nashville Health Care Council. In this innovative program, senior leaders from across the healthcare continuum met to discuss common challenges, practical solutions and best practices that have helped them and their organizations succeed. Our program focused on resilience because every leader faces challenging times, but those moments often yield the greatest growth. By building stronger connections, gaining perspective, and learning what has worked for others, participants strengthened skills that will help them and their organizations flourish. The program included insightful presentations from Tobi Adeyeye Amosun, MD, FAAP, Robyn Morrissey, Lisa Nix, Trish Olivier, M.Ed., M.S., Kevin O'Hara, and Dr. Amy Schoeny. The participants also explored recent thought leadership and held a robust dialogue about how to build and strengthen personal and organizational resilience. Thank you to all of the participants of the inaugural Executive Forum. You are strong leaders who are making a difference every single day in the Healthcare City. A special thanks to Apryl Childs-Potter, Lydie Marc and Clay Hatton for the opportunity to bring this powerful group together and for the support over the last few months. #Resilence #NashvilleHealthCareCouncil #theHealthCareCity

The Spark: Why Transformational Leadership Matters in Healthcare Change in healthcare is constant, but transformation only happens when leadership moves beyond managing to inspiring. Transformational leaders do not rely on authority or process alone; they engage people’s purpose. In today’s broader health systems, this means creating environments where staff feel trusted, innovation is safe, and improvement is collective. It’s about shifting from compliance to commitment. Ask yourself this week: What do I do that inspires trust and energy in others? #HealthcareLeadership #InspiringChange #NHS #TransformationalLeadership #LeadershipDevelopment

Healthcare leaders: Here’s a question to ponder. If you overheard your staff talking about you in the break room, what would you hope they'd say? Most leaders tell me things like: "They're open. Honest. Fair. Approachable." Every single one of these qualities links back to transparency. Yet transparency remains one of the most underutilized tools in healthcare leadership. The question is: what are you doing about that? #HealthcareLeadership #TransparentLeadership #EmployeeExperience #HealthcareCulture #PatientExperience #LeadershipCommunication https://bit.ly/47BLSpG
