Interesting piece. The Government taking a stake in a company usually brings some stability to the register and there is precedent for this in Europe. That said, the current US administration is perhaps more engaging than one might typically expect, so I would agree that the Activist playbook is probably the right approach to deploy here. I have worked on both situations and perhaps the one other thing I would add is, the IRO will need to be more proactive in working with the wider Board to guide and coach their messaging so that it remains aligned with that of management.
