I was grateful for the opportunity to take part in today’s closing conversation on the future of AI in higher education at the CCA NEXT Convening in Baltimore. AI is not something we should approach with fear, but with thoughtful intention. The real work for leaders is to understand how these technologies can help us better serve learners, strengthen our institutions, and prepare students for a world where AI is shaping nearly every profession. That begins with asking the right questions—and being willing to rethink long-standing assumptions about how colleges and universities operate. During the panel, we explored how institutions are beginning to integrate AI into advising, academic design, and day-to-day operations, and what this means for the future of learning. The pace of change is accelerating, and it’s essential that we remain focused on equipping students with the skills and adaptability they’ll need throughout their careers. Sharing the stage with colleagues who are committed to moving higher education forward added great value to an exciting and forward-looking conversation. I appreciated the thoughtful dialogue and the spirit of collaboration throughout the session. Thank you to Complete College America for hosting an important and timely convening. #CCANext2025 #umgc #highered #collegesanduniversities #ai #futureofeducation #workforcedevelopment
