🙌 Good news to start the week! NSW will ban single-use plastic soy fish from 2030. Heliograf started our soy fish journey in Sydney and it's home to my co-founder Jeffrey Simpson, and our longtime collaborators Vert Design so it’s great to see the local community join the fight against plastic pollution and waste. While we think a ban could come sooner, we welcome the change and can’t wait to share our compostable alternative Holy Carp! with the good people of NSW. Thank you Penny Sharpe and Chris Minns – every drop matters!
Not 2026? Not 2027? Not 2028? Not 2029?
2030 What's the hold up?
If only the government would act as decisively to bring about the demise of another, equally invasive fish species; the European carp. If you really care about the Australian environment, choose Charlie Carp fertiliser next time you visit your local garden centre or Bunnings. Charlie Carp is made from nothing but this pesky, slimy trespasser - a fish which is driving indigenous fresh water species to the brink of extinction. And unlike many fertilisers, Charlie Carp is odourless and completely harmless to children and pets.
Why 2030???
Too little too late
That's great news, if only it was sooner
You and heliograf literally just popped into my head yesterday as I was thinking about this! Hope you’re doing well Angus W.
Incredible news!! SO happy to hear that
doing the everything.
1wSA already banned them and just today, I got my soy sauce in a little saucer made from bagasse and...wait for it... a clear plastic lid. Quite a bit bigger than the soy fish :/
