Running a fully remote organisation with 25+ creative, high-performing minds isn’t easy. Yet, at Orange Trail we’ve built something rare - a culture where people actually look forward to showing up, and doing their best work. Our secret? Meritocracy over management. We don’t measure hours. We measure impact. Everyone owns their outcomes, and great results are recognized not with hollow words, but with genuine rewards. Every week, our all-hands board meetings end not in spreadsheets, but in smiles. We run team quizzes about our people, their hobbies, embarrassing stories, even what their pets are called, because connection matters more than control. And yes, we give back. Every single week. 🎁 Meta Ray-Ban smart glasses. 🎁 Beats headphones. 🎁 Amazon gift cards. 🎁 Surprise days off. and more... Thousands in prizes every month, because when people feel seen and valued, they perform at their best. This week, we wrapped up our Halloween Escape Room Challenge. Small teams of five collaborating, solving puzzles, and laughing their way through challenges. The creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving we saw mirrored exactly how we operate daily. It reminded me of a lesson I first encountered during my Master’s in Organisational Psychology, studying what drives human performance. Back then, it was all theory: autonomy, trust, purpose, and belonging lead to peak results. Then I graduated… and walked straight into environments built on micromanagement and fear of mistakes. The theory became reality, of what NOT to do. 😂 A wise man learns from the mistakes of others. Fast forward to today, and I’m proud to see the opposite in action. A culture where we measure impact over hours, where people have ownership, and where laughter and collaboration are just as important as KPIs. It’s proof that when you trust your people, they’ll always rise to the occasion. 💪
When you’re surrounded by great people, great work happens. Grateful to be part of this team!
The gifts are cool, but the real reward is trust. That’s what keeps people showing up
When people feel valued, they give their best. Every time
Micromanagement kills creativity. You’re showing the opposite is possible
More laughs, less fear. That’s the culture shift we all need
This is the kind of work environment that makes people want to give their best
Measuring impact over hours consistently drives engagement and high performance.
when you measure impact over hours, you give high-performing minds the space to actually deliver !!!!!
