Thank you, Sattva Consulting, for highlighting this critical issue. At Action Against Hunger Foundation, through our 1000 Days of Life, CMAM, Food Security & Livelihoods, WASH programmes, we have: - Screened 2.95 lakh children under five for early detection of malnutrition - Supported 2 lakh+ pregnant and lactating women with counselling on diet diversity, anaemia prevention, and IYCF - Improved nutrition outcomes across 9,500+ Anganwadi centres through behaviour change and systems strengthening - Trained 18,500+ frontline workers to enhance quality-of-care at the community level Looking forward to continued partnership and collective action for improved maternal and child nutrition across India.
Only *10.8% of children in India receive a Minimum Acceptable Diet. While data shows that India's U-5 nutrition has improved overall, anaemia, early diet quality, and gaps in frontline healthcare still require attention. To make progress on these fronts, solutions addressing malnutrition must be context-specific, inclusive, and effectively address the social determinants of health. We have outlined 6 interventions focused on improving preconception, IYCF, and maternal nutrition through education, routine screening, and community-led programmes.
