AI isn’t just another tool in healthcare—it’s redefining the roles we play, the value we create, and the future we can build together. Next week at the 2025 Oliver Wyman Health Innovation Summit, Julie Yoo, General Partner at a16z Bio + Health, will take the stage to explore: What happens when AI becomes truly ubiquitous in healthcare—and how do we rethink the roles of patients, providers, and innovators in that new reality? Alongside industry leaders Mike Vennera and John Lester, Julie will be exchanging ideas on how AI will transform every corner of the ecosystem—from policy and practice to access and experience. Healthcare technology is evolving rapidly. In collaboration with HLTH Inc., we hosted a webinar where leaders from DaVita, Linea, and Redesign Health shared how the thoughtful application of AI is not only improving efficiency but fundamentally reshaping how care is delivered. Joined by experts Francesca Tentori, Steve Phillips, Rishi Madhok and Neil Patel, the discussion explored how AI and technology can: ✅Equip care teams with better tools to identify patients earlier ✅Reduce administrative burden ✅Support more coordinated, value-based specialty care …and much more. We’re excited to build on this momentum—to continue to harness technology and innovation as powerful tools in reducing fragmentation in chronic care and driving improved outcomes. At the Regard Summit in NYC today, Bobby Guelich had the opportunity to moderate a thoughtful conversation between Eli Ben-Joseph and Tarun Mehra on the state of AI in healthcare. What stood out most is how aligned providers and technology leaders are on the promise of AI, both for improving patient care and easing provider operations. The real challenge isn’t 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 AI will have an impact, but 𝘩𝘰𝘸 𝘲𝘶𝘪𝘤𝘬𝘭𝘺 we can make it happen while still keeping trust, safety, and security front and center. One perspective that stuck with us: As AI governance matures, healthcare leaders should not lose the startup ethos that has enabled such rapid progress in a short amount of time—a willingness to experiment safely and responsibly, but also iterate (and even fail) quickly. We’re proud to help surface these conversations and share the ideas shaping healthcare’s AI journey. For health system leaders who want to go deeper into the how—from evaluation frameworks to real-world implementation—we'd love to have you join us at our upcoming AI Evaluation Accelerator Summit this December. Reach out to Jeremy Gottlich for the details.

💡 Confronting the Barriers to Impactful Innovation – HETT 2025 I had the pleasure of attending this thought-provoking session today, which tackled some hard truths about why innovation in healthcare so often stalls before it scales. As Ronke Adejolu highlighted, we have become addicted to short-term projects — shaped by politics, funding cycles, and a system that rewards activity over impact. With only 1% of NHS spend on innovation (compared to 25% in the private sector), it’s clear we need a mindset shift to: 🔹 Move from pilots to multi-year programmes 🔹 Build skills for long-term adoption 🔹 Factor in the true cost of change — time, people, and resources The discussion also touched on the “regulatory grief cycle” — denial, frustration, acceptance — and how future-proofing in the age of AI means keeping standards front and centre. With 3,000+ innovations supported by NHSE, the challenge remains: how do we scale with trust, assurance, and cultural buy-in? Are our innovation efforts built to transform systems — or just to tweak symptoms? 💬 I’d love to hear your thoughts — what do you think holds us back from embedding innovation at scale in healthcare? #HETT2025 #NHSInnovation #DigitalHealth #SystemChange #AI #HealthcareLeadership #InnovationCulture
