What's new in 6.6?
- [Lecturer] A few times a year, a new version of WordPress is released. New versions may correct bugs, add new features, change the user interface, provide security improvements, and lots of other things. The last truly significant release was 5.9, which came out in January, 2022. This release included the new full site editor, a new default theme for 2022, a boost to pattern changes, changes to how menus and blocks work together, and so much more. It is one of the biggest single changes to WordPress ever. But the most recent update was 6.6. Remember, version updates are awesome to know about since they empower you to know exactly what WordPress does. However, if you're behind by a few minor releases, that's okay. I'll be using 6.6 for this course, but as long as you are using version 6.0 or newer, you should be able to follow along okay.
